Georgia S. Miller<\/strong><\/p>\n Feb. 26, 1927 \u2013 Nov. 25, 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n KANSAS CITY \u2014 Georgia S. Miller, Pomona, died Monday, Nov. 25, 2019, at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City. She was 92.<\/p>\n Georgia was born Feb. 26, 1927, in Thermopolis, Wyo., the daughter of Oscar and Nida Smith Simonson. She lived in Pomona, during the 1950\u2019s moving to Colorado. In 1965, Georgia returned to Pomona where she made her home until her death.<\/p>\n She graduated from Hot Springs Colorado High School with the class of 1945. She attended the University of Wyoming from 1945 to 1947, earning her teaching certificate. She graduated in 1958 from Colorado State Teachers College with a Bachelor of Arts in Education and later graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a Master of Arts in Education.<\/p>\n She married Gene Clifford Miller Dec. 21, 1947, in Thermopolis, Wyo. He survives of the home.<\/p>\n Georgia dedicated her working life to teaching children. She worked 32 years as an educator, 25 of those years at Lyndon High School teaching business retiring in May 1990.<\/p>\n She was a life member of Pomona Chapter No. 305 Order of the Eastern Star from 1952 to 2008. She was a member of Union Chapter No. 15 OES of Ottawa from 2009, Home Demonstration Unit, Harmony Homes, National Education Association, Boyd Ladies Aide, Thursday Pitch Players of Pomona, Past Matrons Club and Red Hats. Georgia was also a member of the Pomona United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and a volunteer Sunday school teacher and Head Start Reader.<\/p>\n She enjoyed spending time reading, water and oil painting and tending to her collections.<\/p>\n She was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers, Phillip Simonson, Donald Simonson, Kenneth Simonson, Lyle Simonson, Norval Simonson, Wayne Simonson and Thayne Simonson; and a sister, Ada McIntyre.<\/p>\n Besides her husband, she is survived by four children, Michael G. Miller and wife, Patti, Tulsa, Okla., Gary C. Miller and wife, Pam, Ottawa, Charlene Howard and husband, John, Ravenna, Ohio, and Kris Miller, Pomona; a brother, Adrian Simonson and wife, Lynda, Casper, Wyo.; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.<\/p>\n Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2 at Pomona United Methodist Church, with services by Union Chapter No. 15, Order of the Eastern Star, Ottawa. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Pomona.<\/p>\n The family suggests memorial contributions to Three Lakes Educational Cooperative and sent in car of Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
