TONGANOXIE – Glenda Rae (Wilkerson) Wolf died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2024, at her home in Tonganoxie. She was 81.

She was born Nov. 26, 1942, in Natchitoches, La., the daughter of J.C. and Pearl (Troquille) Wilkerson. She attended Cabot High School in Cabot, Ark.

On May 3, 1971, Glenda was united in marriage to Loren Dale Wolf, in Topeka. They shared 53 years of loving marriage.

Glenda worked as the librarian at Scranton’s elementary school until her retirement in 1997.

She loved travelling and the scenery on car rides, especially going up and down the Arkansas River in their cabin cruiser. She liked camping and making it a home. She enjoyed planting flowers and gardening, and would occasionally steal starts for plants. She loved shoes and cooking, but most of all, she loved her family.

Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, J.C. Wilkerson and Pearl T. Johnson; her stepfather, Fredrick J. Johnson; her son, Sean Eric Wolf; and her three sisters, twin Linda F. Streeter, Melba Jean Dillon and Charlotte Wilkerson.

She is survived by her husband, Loren Dale Wolf, of the home; two daughters, Tami Loraine Kendall, Topeka, and Tina Bell Gardner, Dallas, Texas; two stepbrothers, Joe Vercher, Oklahoma City, Okla., and Jimmy Fletcher, Texarkana, Texas; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were 11 a.m. Sept. 24, at Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, Overbrook. Visitation was 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 23, at the funeral home.
