OSAGE CITY – Lee Milner Bulmer, Vassar, died Saturday, Aug. 10, 2024, at Osage Nursing Center, Osage City. He was 86.

He was born June 11, 1938, in Michigan Valley, the son of Drexel and Alice (Myers) Bulmer. He grew up in the Michigan Valley area and had lived there until moving south of Vassar in 2006. He graduated from Michigan Valley High School in 1956.

Lee was united in marriage to Peggy Porter Dec. 14, 1958, in Ottawa. To this union four children were born, Renea, Tammy, Dana and Delane.

He owned and operated Bulmer Grain Company, Michigan Valley, with his brother and father, for many years. He was the fuel department manager at BETO Junction for seven years and worked at Ottawa Truck in assembly for nine years. Throughout this time, he always farmed and raised livestock.

Lee was a member of the Michigan Valley United Methodist Church and the American Maine-Anjou Cattle Association.

He was preceded in death by his son, Delane in 2001; a grandson, Dallas Bulmer; his parents, Drexel and Alice; and his sister, Barbara Brown.

Lee is survived by his wife of more than 65 years, Peggy; his son, Dana Bulmer (Dana), Topeka; his two daughters, Renea Bulmer (Jean), Topeka, and Tammy Phillips (Rodney), Vassar; his two brothers, Larry Bulmer and Russell Bulmer, both of Ottawa; three sisters, Deanna Faust, Overbrook, and Sharon Middlebusher and Karen Witham, both of Ottawa; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Aug. 17 at Feltner Funeral Chapel, Lyndon. Burial will be in the Valley Brook Cemetery, south of Overbrook. The family will receive friends 6:30 to 8 p.m. Aug. 16 at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Michigan Valley United Methodist Church or Osage Nursing Center, and sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Ave., Lyndon, KS 66451.
