OSAGE CITY — Alice Marie Fletcher died Thursday, July 7, 2022, at her home near Osage City. She was 94.
She was born Jan. 29, 1928, in Girard, the daughter of Ernest and Elva Meyer. She grew up in Girard and had lived in Independence, before moving to Osage City in 1994.
Alice was united in marriage to John Douglas Fletcher in January 1958.
She worked as a private executive secretary for Arco Sinclair Pipeline Co., Independence.
Alice attended the Lutheran Church, Osage City, was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Osage City, and was a member of the Sorosis Club and the Library Book Club in Osage City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John, April 25, 2017; her parents, Ernest and Elva; her stepson, Steven Fletcher, a Vietnam veteran; and her brother, Ernest Meyer Jr.
Alice is survived by two stepdaughters, Kathleen Jayko, Crystal Lake, Ill., and Judith Kirchner, Clintonville, Wis.; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, July, 12, at Feltner Funeral Home, Lyndon, followed by prayer service at 7 p.m. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, at the Girard Cemetery.
