Arnold R. “Arnie” White

-

KANSAS CITY — Arnold R. White, Allen, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2022, at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City. He was 72.

He was born Nov. 18, 1949, in McLouth, to Nellie and Paul White. He graduated from McLouth High School in 1968. After attending Emporia State University, he went on to spend 36 years as a brakeman and conductor for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad.

Arnie married Debbie Harold in 1980, and together they made the old stone hotel in Allen a family home, where they raised two children, Zach and Jessica. They later divorced.

He was a collector of all things, and didn’t hesitate to help a neighbor. He loved to be outdoors and was a passionate gardener. Laid back and anything but lazy, he worked hard to provide a great life for those he loved.

Arnie was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his son, Zach White, Tacoma, Wash.; his daughter, Jessica Dyroff (Chris), Leawood; his grandsons, Benjamin and Samuel, Leawood; his sister, Pauleen Commons (Merle), Lawrence; and many family and friends who loved him.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
