EL DORADO — Ellana J. Mahoney, 65, Emporia, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022, at an El Dorado care facility.

She was born Oct. 31, 1956, the daughter of Edward and Loretta (Crampton) Fry. She attended school in Osage City, graduating with the Class of 1974. She graduated from Emporia State University in 1980 with a bachelor’s degree in education.

Ellana worked many years at Dolly Madison, Emporia, and for the Flint Hills Community Health Center. She most recently worked for RCIL, retiring two years ago.

She was married to Clarence “Sonny” Mahoney Jr. He preceded her in death.

Ellana was also preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include several cousins.

Honoring Ellana’s request, cremation is planned. Graveside services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, south of Emporia, at a later date.

Dove Cremations and Funerals, Southwest Chapel, Topeka, is assisting the family.
