OSAGE CITY — David E. Anderson, 80, died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2021, at Osage Nursing Center, Osage City.
He was born Aug. 18, 1941, in Osage City, the son of Thomas and Verda (Lafferty) Anderson. He had lived most of his life in Osage City, except for a few years when he lived in Topeka.
David farmed, was owner and operator of Anderson Plumbing & Heating, and owned Dog Town Antiques. He also worked at A & G Underground, KanBuild and the Rural Water District. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves for nearly 10 years. He was a member of the Stotler Covenant Church, where he was an officer, the Auburn Christian Church, where he was an elder, the American Legion Post, Osage City, and the Osage City Jaycees. He was also a square dancer.
He was united in marriage to Donna Dee Balocca Feb. 10, 1961, in Topeka. To this union two children were born, Laura and Laird.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Verda.
He is survived by his wife, Donna, of the home; his children, Laura Haynes (Brett) and Laird Anderson (Kandy), both of Osage City; two brothers, Lawrence Anderson and Harlan Anderson, both of Osage City; three grandchildren, Kyle (Tobi), Mariah and Trista; and three great-grandchildren, Walker, Warren and Emerson.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, at the Countryside Baptist Church, Osage City.
