OSAGE CITY — Geraldine “Gerri” Dorr, 93, Burlingame, died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2021, at Osage City Nursing Center.

She was born Sept. 6, 1928, in El Dorado, the daughter of Harold and Norma (Schrader) Davis. She grew up in the Burlingame area and graduated from Burlingame High School with the Class of 1946.

Gerri was united in marriage to Dale Dorr Sept. 6, 1947, in Burlingame. They celebrated 60 years of loving marriage prior to Dale’s death in 2008.

Gerri and Dale owned and operated DalGer Dog Kennel. She was dedicated to her dogs, making sure all the breeds she bred and sold over the years were top-quality dogs. She took great pride in how far her kennel reached throughout the country. Her dogs were sought after by many people.

She also loved to read. You could fill a library with all the books she read over the years. One of her favorite pastimes was dinner dates with friends. They always enjoyed a good meal and catching up with one another.

Gerri was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dale; three sons, Greg Dorr, Bruce Dorr and Kevin Dorr; and two brothers, Dale Davis and Gary Davis.

She is survived by two daughters, Gwen Romine, Osage City, and Susan Davis, Shawnee; two sisters, Marilyn Elgin (Larry), Burlingame, and Ardelle Tillish, Kansas City; a brother, Kent Davis, Topeka; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15, at Ramskill Chapel in Burlingame Cemetery.
