KANSAS CITY — Janelle Lynn Arb, 57, Eudora, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021, at KU Medical Center, Kansas City.

She was born Oct. 11, 1963, in Topeka, the daughter of Howard and JoAnn (Fanning) Arb.

Janelle grew up in Melvern, graduating from Marias des Cygnes Valley High School in 1982. She was a junior high and high school cheerleader, and was very active in 4-H, showing cattle and cooking. She graduated from Emporia State University in 1986 with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She was also a cheerleader at ESU, was a member of the Tri Sigma Sorority, and sang with the Prairie Fire Band of Emporia for 10 years.

She later moved to Eudora, where she had lived for the last 30 years. She taught preschool special education at Eudora and Baldwin City schools for over 30 years. She was also the cheerleading sponsor for Eudora Junior High and High School for several years.

Janelle was preceded in death by her father, Howard Arb, Sept. 12, 2020; and her sister, Tammy Foster, Dec. 22, 2018.

She is survived by her mother, JoAnn Arb; two sisters, Debra Arb and Christy Arb; a brother, Keith Arb (Denise); a niece, Kyelie Arb; and many aunts, cousins and friends.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, at the Melvern Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to ECKCE (East Central Kansas Cooperation in Education, early childhood) and sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Ave, Lyndon, KS 66451.
