OVERBROOK —Glenda Jasperson Reid Harrison, Lawrence, died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2021, at Brookside Retirement Community, Overbrook. She was 83.

Glenda Ann Jasperson was born Nov. 15, 1937, in Hays, the daughter of Harold Glenn and Margaret Joy Jasperson. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education from Washburn University in 1959, and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She taught elementary education for the Topeka and Lawrence public school systems.

She married Wally Reid May 9, 1959, at Lowman Methodist Church, Topeka. Glenda and Wally were the owners of NAPA Auto stores in Lawrence. Wally preceded her in death in 1991. Glenda married Sid Harrison Nov. 24, 2002, in Lawrence. He died in 2011.

Glenda was a member of the Junior League of Topeka, PEO and Lawrence County Club. She loved to play bridge, golf and bowl. She was a consummate hostess, decorated for every holiday, and loved to travel and entertain. She was the life of the party, and knew no strangers.

Besides her husbands, she was also preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Harold Jasperson; and two sisters, Marjorie Smith and Eleese Young.

Glenda is survived by her daughter, Amy Reid Green (Gayle), Ottawa; her grandchildren, Ashley Fawl (Matt) and Megan Fischer Pena, both of Overbrook, and Adam Fischer (Amber), Lyndon; her great-grandchildren, Taegyn and Trey Fawl, Skylar and Ryatt Pena, and Taelynn and Ava Fischer; her sister, Nancy Jasperson Perry (Ken); her brothers, John Jasperson (Mary Jo), Katy, Texas, and Marc Jasperson (Celeste), Overland Park; her brother-in law, Richard Young, Topeka; many nieces and nephews; and the Harrison family, Lynn (Scott and Lauren), Lisa (Alex), Leslie and Dale (Olivia and Jack), and Jeff and Cara (Cameran and Savannah).

A visitation for Glenda will be 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary, Lawrence.

Memorial contributions may be made to USD 434 Santa Fe Trail, USD 421 Lyndon, or to the donor’s favorite charity, and sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th St., Lawrence, KS 66044.
