Barbara E. “Billie” Paxton

OSAGE CITY — Barbara E. “Billie” Paxton, 87, died Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at her home in Osage City.

She was born Nov. 9, 1933, in Williamsburg, and moved to Burlingame at an early age.

Billie married Paul L. Paxton Jan. 27, 1951.

She worked for Osage Products, a division of Hallmark Cards, Osage City, from 1967 until she retired in 1990. After retirement, she owned and operated Billie’s Country Place, Osage City, for a number of years. She and Paul enjoyed making wooden crafts and traveling to craft shows. She loved to travel and would often take extensive vacations, one time visiting all five provinces of Canada. One of Paul and Billie’s favorite places to visit was Arizona.

Billie was preceded in death by her husband, Paul L. Paxton, 2005; her parents, Art and Nadine Williamson; a son-in-law, Dick Hardin; and a grandchild, Kelsey Montgomery.

She is survived by her children, Debbie Hardin, Topeka, Danny Paxton, Osage City, Deanne Montgomery (Robert), Leavenworth, and Dana Christian (Rick), Lee’s Summit, Mo.; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be noon Monday, Aug. 2, at the Community Covenant Church, 334 North Topeka Avenue, Osage City, with burial to follow at Osage City Cemetery. The family will greet friends prior to the service, beginning 11 a.m., at the church.
