TOPEKA — Lance Anthony Steffey died Friday, July 16, 2021, at his home in Topeka, after a battle with addiction. He was 31.

He was born Oct. 21, 1989, in Winchester, to Lisa Humerickhouse and Marvin Steffey Jr. He enjoyed riding horses and four-wheelers. He graduated from McLouth High School, where he played football, basketball and baseball. He was a very loving and caring son, brother, cousin and grandson.

Lance is survived by his mother, Lisa Humerickhouse (and her husband, Jerrad); his father, Marvin Steffey Jr. (and his wife, Letha); his sisters, Ashley King (and her children, Micah and Mikinzi), McLouth, Chelsey Renfro (and her husband, Sean, and children, Bryce, Kellan and Kohen); Chelsea Ann Rome (and her husband, Mike, and children, Kal and Kinley); his brothers, Jimmy Steffey (and wife, Haley and son, Myers), Cameron Humerickhouse (and wife, Tyarra), and Trevor Roberts (and wife, Kayla); his maternal grandmother, Martha Patterson, McLouth; and his paternal grandparents, Joe and Thelma Humerickhouse, Osage City, Thelma Durkes, McLouth, and Larry and Roberta Ross, Lebanon, Mo.

A private graveside service will held at a future date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Valeo Behavioral Health Care and sent in care of Barnett Family Funeral Home, 1220 Walnut St., Oskaloosa, KS 66066.
