OVERBROOK — Lavern Clark, 82, died Thursday, May 21, 2020 at the Brookside Retirement Community, Overbrook.

She was born Aug. 15, 1937, in Trafford, Ala., the daughter of Oscar and Lena Mae Holloway Crawford.

Lavern grew up in Alabama and had lived in Lakeland, Fla., Williamsburg, Mo., and then Lyndon.

She was a homemaker, seamstress, and had worked as a cook for the Osage County Jail for nearly 10 years. She was a member of TOPS and she enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens.

Lavern was married to Phillip Clark Feb. 14, 1966, in Valdosta, Ga.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Lena; a son, Eddie Drew; and her sister, Verla Mae Miller.

Lavern is survived by her husband, Phillip; her children, Shelia Pate, Florida, Saxby “Rick” Mickler, Scranton, Deronda Cain, Tebbetts, Mo., and Verita Stumpe, St. Peters, Mo.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial services for Lavern will be noon Saturday, April 17, at Feltner Funeral Chapel, Lyndon. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until service time at the chapel.
