Died Jan. 24, 2021

BALLWIN, Mo. — Bowman, Frances A. Forman died Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021.

Fran was born in Phoenix, Ariz., and moved to rural Kansas as a child during the depression where she grew up and graduated from Carbondale Rural High School. She lived in Kansas City, Mo., before moving to Bridgeton, Mo., where she lived most of her adult life.

She went to college as an “older student” graduating with an accounting degree and worked as an accountant for Beyer, Hippe, and Michael for many years until her retirement. Finding herself bored after retiring, she worked as a bank teller for US Bank before retiring again.

Fran enjoyed bowling, playing bridge, getting together with family and good friends and traveling, especially internationally, to Arizona, and her favorite place, the Black Hills of South Dakota.

If a volunteer was needed, Fran was there, PTA, Girl Scouts, and especially close to her heart, Open Door Animal Sanctuary where she volunteered for many years, taking care of the cats, several of which found their way to her home.

Beloved mother of Loren (Anna) Bowman, Jr., Laurel (Helen Varga) Bowman, Lyndell (Denessa) Bowman and Lalita (David) Creighton; dearest grandmother of Kirk Bowman and Katie (Kevin) Ruegge; loving daughter of the late Forrest and Katherine Forman; dear sister of the late Eldon Forman; dear aunt, great-aunt and friend of many.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Feb. 2 at Schrader Funeral Home and Crematory, 14960 Manchester Road, Holloway, Ballwin, Mo. Interment will be 11:30 a.m. Feb. 3 at Ridgeway Cemetery, Overbrook. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1.
