AUBURN — Lorena McNabb Fellers Carlat died Jan. 2, 2021, in Auburn. She was 98.

Lorena was born April 6, 1922, South of Melvern, the daughter of Lester and Clara (Patterson) McNabb.

Through her high school years, she would sing and perform at a radio station, in Ottawa. Lorena graduated from Melvern High School in 1941.

She married Justin Fellers, in Bentonville, Ark. Lorena went on the road to harvest wheat. She went from Texas to Canada. They divorced in 1952.

She married Russell “Dale” Carlat June 4, 1954, Burlingame. Lorena worked varies jobs including being in charge for the Red Stocking Fund Raiser for the Kansas Children’s Service League. She was also their office of finance and development secretary. Lorena retired in 1976. Dale and Lorena traveled throughout the United States. They also wintered in Mesa, Ariz. Dale and Lorena resided in Tecumseh, for 61 years till his death in October 2015.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Lawrence and Lorn McNabb.

Survivors include Robert Neillin Fellers (Linda), Melvern, John Lester Fellers (Linda), Melvern, Dan Whitford Fellers, Topeka, LeAnn Renee Fouts, (Lee), Auburn; 13 grandchildren, Chris Fellers, Sun Prairie, Wsc., Kim Marney, Olathe, Shannan Buenaflor, Liberty, Mo., Mendy Craig, Melvern, Brian Fellers and Theresa McNew, both of Overland Park, Wayne Fellers, McKinney, Texas, Scott, Mark, Anna Fellers and Bridgett Davis, all of Topeka, Tammy Shields, Bend Ore., Brady Fouts, Tecumseh; and numerous great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11, at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home. Graveside services are 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, at Auburn Cemetery, Auburn.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations to be made to the National Audubon Society or Helping Hands Humane Society and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 S.W. Sixth Ave., Topeka, KS 66603.
