LYNDON — Dorothy May Brecheisen died Sunday, August 16, 2020, at her home east of Lyndon. She was 79.

She was born on April 21, 1941, in Quenemo, the daughter of Ben and Elizabeth Garvin Lewis. She up in Quenemo and lived east of Lyndon for the past 64 years.

Dorothy was a homemaker, worked alongside her husband on the farm, worked in food service and for the past 22 years, owned and operated Breck’s Green Acres, near Pomona Lake. She was a member of the Vassar United Methodist Church and attended Mt. Pleasant Community Church.

Dorothy married Danny Brecheisen May 25, 1956, in Lyndon. He preceded her in death on Dec. 10, 2002.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Patty Brecheisen; her parents, Ben and Elizabeth; four brothers, Earl Dean Lewis, George Lewis, Joe Lewis and Dale Lee Lewis; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.

Dorothy is survived by two sons, Randy Brecheisen and wife, Delinda, El Dorado, and Steve Brecheisen and wife, Raylene, Vassar; four daughters, Sandy Glenn, Lyndon, Cheryl Brecheisen, Scranton, Charlene Brecheisen, Lyndon, and Marsha Ball and husband, Delbert, Vassar; a sister, Lois Bulmer and husband, Larry, Ottawa; 18 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, August 20, at Mt. Pleasant Community Church, southeast of Lyndon. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Feltner Funeral Chapel, Lyndon. Burial will follow at Vassar Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Home Town Health Care and Hospice, Lyndon, and sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Ave., Lyndon, KS 66451.
