BURLINGAME — Cecil Roy Prescott, Burlingame, died Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at home, from lung cancer surrounded by family. He was 70.

Cecil was born Feb. 16, 1950, in Eskridge.

He was a Vietnam veteran and served aboard the USS Juneau and was also a member of the VFW Post 1650, Topeka. Cecil worked for Vincent Roofing, Topeka, for 33 years and with Spencer Construction for 12 years.

He loved playing music, fishing, hunting, making gunstocks and repairing most anything he could. He also enjoyed visiting with friends and sharing, writing and telling stories.

Cecil was preceded in death by his father, Dean; his mother, Jean; and a brother, John.

He leaves behind his wife, Kathy of 41 years; a daughter, Hope (Christina), Kansas City, Mo.; two sons, Chancler (Julie), Rossville, Ga., and Ernie, Burlingame; a sister, Nita (RJ), Port St. Lucie, Fla.; three brothers, William (Daresa), Osage City, David (Pat), Burlingame, and Richard, Scranton; four grandchildren, Malichi, Josiah, Isabella and Lilly; and many aunts, uncles, nephews and many friends.

A Celebration of Life will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at the home of David Prescott. Cecil, we will miss you greatly, but you will never be forgotten.

Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Care Hospice and sent in care to Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 268, Overbrook, KS 66524.
