TOPEKA — Virginia Neil Pringle, Carbondale, died Friday, June 12, 2020, at Midland Hospice House, Topeka. She was 96.

She was born Jan. 15, 1924, in Topeka, the daughter of George and Violet Belknap Neil. She grew up in Topeka, and lived in Burlington before moving to Carbondale 10 years ago.

Virginia was a homemaker and worked as a bookkeeper for Wakarusa Elevator and her husband’s gas stations. She was a member of Eastern Star for over 70 years, at Wakarusa, Burlington, LeRoy and Carbondale. She was a 4-H volunteer, member of K-State Extension, New Strawn Library, Burlington Methodist Church and Wakarusa Presbyterian Church.

She married Gilbert John Pringle June 7, 1940, in Topeka. He preceded her in death on June 4, 1989.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Gloria.

Virginia is survived by a son, John Pringle and wife, June, Georgia; two daughters, Julia Ruble, Wichita, and Jane Zerr, St. Louis, Mo.; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, at Feltner Funeral Chapel, Lyndon. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Shawnee Center Cemetery, Wakarusa.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wakarusa Presbyterian Church or E.L.M. (Eastern Star, Lion’s and Masonic Building), in Carbondale, and sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Ave., Lyndon, KS 66451.
