OSAGE CITY — Nadine Lee Cowan, died Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at Osage Nursing Center, Osage City. She was 104.

She born Sept. 11, 1915, in Clayton, N.M., the daughter of Noah C. and Minnie Dewees Lee.

She married Royce McCall Cowan Nov. 9, 1934, in Ballinger, Texas. He preceded her in death. To this union, five children were born.

She had worked as a nurse’s aide and was a homemaker to her family.

Nadine was a member of Flint Hills Baptist Church. She enjoyed flowers, gardening and any outdoor activity.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; three sons, Warren Cowan, Houston Cowan and Walter Dale Cowan; three sisters, Melba Louise Lee, Florence O’Delia Seals and Wilma Hearn; and two brothers, Noah Clifford Lee and Amos Earl Lee.

She will be forever remembered by a daughter, Myrtle Joyce “Sally” Walker, Mt. View, Ark.; a son, Russell Dean Cowan Sr. and wife, Sharon, Osage City; two daughters-in-law, Linda Cowan, Osage City, and Crystal Cowan, Oskaloosa; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 7, at VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, Osage City. The family will receive friends 12:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Alpine Cemetery, south of Osage City.

Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice and sent in care of VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, 107 N. Sixth St., Osage City, KS 66523.
