TOPEKA — Marilyn Kendall, Melvern, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2020, at Midland Hospice House, Topeka. She was 89.

She was born Nov. 3, 1930, in Freeport, Ill., the daughter of Kline and Marion Johnston Bardell Sr. Marilyn lived in Denver and North Glen, Colo., before moving to Melvern in 1976.

She worked in communications for United Airlines, was a bookkeeper for several grain elevators and was postmaster at Melvern. She was a member of several card clubs around the Melvern community.

Marilyn married Alyn “Ike” Kendall, Dec. 24, 1960, in Denver, Colo. He preceded her in death on March 24, 2001.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Kline and Marion; and a brother, Kline Bardell Jr.

Marilyn is survived by a son, Kyle Kendall and wife, Patti, Denton, Texas; a daughter, Rhonda Beatty and husband, Mark, Tecumseh; a brother, Kenneth Bardell, West Bend, Wisc.; five step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 29, at Feltner Funeral Chapel, Lyndon. Family will receive friends from noon until service time at the chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice Care and sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Ave., Lyndon, KS 66451.
