TOPEKA — Richard William Carlson died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2020, at his home in Topeka. He was 47.

He was born Feb. 20, 1972, in Emporia, the son of Richard Joseph and Janet “Susie” Bolyard Carlson. He graduated Osage City High School in 1990. He was working as a pest control exterminator in Topeka.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Joseph Carlson.

Richard will be forever remembered by his mother, Janet “Susie” Carlson, Osage City; a daughter, Amanda Carlson, Wichita; three sisters, Sandy Griffith and husband, Gary, Osage City, Kim Conner and husband, Kevin, Osage City, and Sally Carlson, Lawrence; and seven nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be 11:30 a.m., Monday, Feb. 10, at VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, Osage City. Family will be receiving friends an hour before service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association and sent in care of VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, 107 N. Sixth St., Osage City, KS 66523.
