Shirley Ann Kinnett

TOPEKA — Shirley Ann Kinnett, Scranton, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2020, at Tanglewood Health and Rehabilitation Center, Topeka. She was 74.

She was born March 22, 1945, in Topeka, the daughter of Luther and Phrene French Overfield

Shirley lived most of her life in Scranton before moving to Tanglewood in late 2019. She worked in the kitchen at Memorial Hospital for several years until its closing. She later worked in housekeeping at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas.

She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary and traveled with the Santa Fe Women’s Club. Shirley enjoyed attending worship services with her friends at numerous area churches.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Born and two brothers, James Overfield and Donald Overfield.

She will live on in the hearts and memories of a stepdaughter, Karen Born and husband, Riley, Princeton, Texas; two stepsons, Jerry Kinnett and wife, Sue, Goddard, and Carl Kinnett, Carbondale; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Cremation is planned, with private graveside service in Carbondale Cemetery at a later date.
