At approximately 4 p.m. July 20, the Osage County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a Toyota Tundra at 109th and Fairlawn. The truck was reported stolen July 5 from Wabunsee County.
The driver continued to elude deputies in the northern part of Osage County. The chase continued into Shawnee County. At 4:50 p.m. the driver fled on foot from the area of 97th and Lewelling. The driver is described as a white male and has not been located.
During the chase, the driver attempted to strike several law enforcement vehicles. One Osage County patrol vehicle received minor damage when the driver turned around, lost control of the vehicle and sideswiped the patrol vehicle.
All officers from Osage County, Shawnee County, Kansas Highway Patrol and Kansas Wildlife Parks and Tourism cleared 8 p.m.
