Medicare enrollment open Oct. 15 – Dec. 7

The East Central Kansas Area Agency on Aging will be hosting several outreach events to assist Medicare beneficiaries with their Medicare Part D Enrollment for 2016. Appointments will be held in the various towns during this time and information is below. Open Enrollment takes place from Oct. 15-Dec. 7. All plans will then become effective Jan. 1, 2016. Everyone should have a plan comparison done as there will be plan changes in availability, formularies and costs across all plans for 2016.

Part D worksheets are available to complete prior to any appointments that may be needed and prior to the outreach events. Worksheets will be emailed, mailed or are available to pick up at Osage County Senior Center, ECKAAA office and K-State Research and Extension office.

To receive a worksheet, ask questions or inquire about setting up an appointment, call East Central Kansas Area Agency on Aging, Ottawa, at (785) 242-7200 or (800) 633-5621.

The following are area dates, times and phone numbers to call for an appointment; Osage County Senior Center, Osage City, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Oct. 30, call (785) 242-7200, or (800) 633-5621; and Vintage Park, Osage City, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 4, (785) 242-7200, or (800) 633-5621.

Beneficiaries receive information regarding open enrollment by calling Leslea at Area Agency on Aging at (785) 242-7200 or (800) 633-5621.

Due to the expense of postage, worksheets will be emailed when possible, having them available to be picked up in each community and available to pick up at the ECKAAA office. Forms are currently at each Osage County Senior Center and a K-State Research and Extension Office.

Individuals will be sent a worksheet to complete when they call to make an appointment, which needs to be completed and returned prior to their appointment. This allows the agency enough time to run individual’s medications and have your information ready.

Bring Medicare card and current Part D prescription drug plan cards with you. Bring information on any prescriptions you have added or eliminated since turning in your worksheet to the appointment.

Due to limited time and resources away from the office these appointments are for Medicare D open enrollment only.
