“All the things that make us special are the things that make us strong.”
The voices of rejected fairy tale characters will let the audience know that differences are what make us special at the performance of Shrek Jr. the Musical 7 p.m. Aug. 1 at Osage City High School auditorium. The musical is sponsored by Osage City Parks and Recreation. Admission to the event is free.
The cast is made of 16 students, preschool through sixth grade, from Lyndon and Osage City. The cast includes Addison King, Kenzie Bellinger, Grady Bellinger, Paxton Smith, and Allison Sloop as fairy tale characters; Lucas Gantenbein, Josiah Smith and Skylar Dunbar as pigs; Isaac McCoy as the big bad wolf; Gavin Robert as Lord Farquaad; Chase Williams as the storyteller; Emery Camarena as Gingy; Gracy Smith as Pinocchio; Samantha Cole as mama bear; Kaityn Gantenbein as the wicked witch; Garrett Fager as Shrek; Ashlyn McCoy as Donkey; Bryson Murphy as papa bear; and Jerra Butterfield as Fiona.
Assistant directors are Olivia Camarena and Jolson Robert; lighting and sound is run by Carleigh Gardner and Ryan Lauber. Directors are Kathy Camarena and Jaime McCoy.
