Candidate Profiles: Lyndon council positions

The Osage County Herald-Chronicle is providing basic information on area candidates running for municipal and school board positions in the April 7 election.

Candidates for each position were contacted by mail at the address of filing and were asked to provide a photo and return questions about why they are running for office, issues and goals they wish to address, their past record of service and their relationship to the community.

William Patterson

Lyndon City Council

I enjoy serving on the Lyndon City Council and would like to continue to serve the community as a council member. If elected, I would like to see the council continue to move forward on improving our infrastructure. I would also like to try to find businesses that would like to open up in Lyndon and listen to the needs of the community.

I have served on the Lyndon City Council three previous terms. During that time, the council has tried to make improvements in the community and make Lyndon a better place to live and work.

My wife and I have lived in Lyndon for 30 years. I graduated from Emporia State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree and also a Master’s degree in school counseling. I have been employed by USD 421 as a teacher and high school counselor since we moved here in 1985. Both of my children have graduated from Lyndon schools. I enjoy being outdoors and can normally be found either at school, in our yard or out walking or jogging around town.
