Michael Fulton

Carbondale Mayor

I care about the city I live in is why I am running for office. I want to serve the citizens of Carbondale and provide new leadership and try to promote growth within the city. I previously served on the city council.

I was raised in Carbondale with two brothers and a sister by my parents, Vernon and Viola Fulton. I work in Topeka in the automotive industry. I enjoy many different types of outdoor activities.

I am married with four children, two stepchildren and 10 grandchildren.

Larry L. Hinck

Carbondale Mayor

I’ve been asked many times to run for city council and have finally decided that I have both the time and ability to do a good job.

No specific issues come to mind, just to make Carbondale a more livable small town.

I coached my kids’ ball teams in the summers when they were young. My wife and I also managed the C.A.A. (Carbondale Athletic Association – a precursor of the now Recreation Commission) during that time. I currently serve on the Carbondale Zoning Board. Also, my wife and I were instrumental in bringing Dollar General to town and the relocation of Casey’s General Store to its present location.

My wife and I have been married for over 43 years, residing in Carbondale for all but about six months of that time. We have four grown children and 15 grandchildren. My work experience includes working for the railroad, construction worker, laborer, heavy equipment operator, truck driver and also working for the Topeka City Water Department. I have been self-employed for over 20 years.
