Treinen speaks at Osage City presentation

-

After completing his first year in the majors, 2006 Osage City High School graduate Blake Treinen tells a crowd of family, friends, former classmates, alumni and current students that talking to them makes him more nervous than pitching in front of thousands. The Washington Nationals pitcher was honored with the addition of his high school and Major League Baseball jerseys to the awards case in the high school commons. The case also includes a signed baseball and Nationals hat, along with a short bio of Treinen’s high school, college and major league career through his rookie season. Former coach, Brian Sage, above right, read the bio at Friday night’s basketball game. Treinen followed up with a short speech on working hard and following your dreams. He also spoke with several in the crowd and signed autographs.
