Herald-Chronicle All-County Volleyball selections

The Osage County Herald-Chronicle announces its all-county volleyball teams, recognizing the top contributors from each of the county’s high schools. Athletes were nominated by their coaches and selected by statistics and their recognition by the league and state associations.

The All-Osage County first team includes three members of the Class 4A Division II state-champion Santa Fe Trail Lady Chargers volleyball team.

SFT senior outside hitter Jaeden Romine was the team captain for the Lady Chargers, a Kansas Volleyball Association Class 4A Div. II first-team selection, a Div. II state tournament team selection, Big Seven League first team in 2012 and 2013, and a four-year letter winner. She ended the year with 96.2 percent serving, 54 aces, 402 kills, 118 blocks and 214 digs.

SFT senior outside hitter Shelby Dahl was voted best athlete of her team, a KVA Class 4A Div. II first-team selection, a Div. II state tournament team selection, BSL first team in 2012 and 2013, and a four-year letter winner. Dahl had 97.8 percent service with 39 aces, 351 kills, 41 blocks and 257 digs.

SFT senior right-side hitter and second setter Megan Zaldivar was a KVA Class 4A Div. II third-team selection, BSL first-team selection and a four-year letter winner. Zaldivar had 92.9 percent service with 29 aces, 51 kills, 49 blocks and 498 assists.

Burlingame senior Ashton Dorr led the Lady Bearcats in aces and assists. She was a Lyon County League first-team selection in 2011, 2012 and 2013; LCL honorable mention 2010; and KVA all-state 2012.

Burlingame senior outside hitter Hayley Lewis led her team in kills and blocks, earning LCL first-team honors in 2012 and 2013, and second-team honors in 2011.

Lyndon senior Brenna Herdman was the final all-county first-team selection, earning Flint Hills League first-team honors in 2011, 2012 and 2013.
