OVERBROOK — Shirley M. Lafferty, Burlingame, died Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Brookside Manor in Overbrook. She was 87.

She was born Nov. 18, 1934, in Scranton, the daughter of Robert Eugene “Gene” and Marie “Mary” (Kivitter) Hall. She graduated from Burlingame High School in 1952.

Shirley married Ben Stout in 1952. They later divorced. She married Elbert Eugene “Gene” Lafferty March 29, 1974. He preceded her in death on March 4, 2006.

She was a member of the Federated Church of Burlingame. She was primarily a homemaker and worked various retail position throughout her life.

Shirley was also preceded in death by her only sister, Vivian Sneary.

She is survived by her sons, Mike Stout (Terri), Scranton, and Greg Stout (Anne), Burlingame; her stepson, Steven Lafferty (Margie), Grandview, Mo.; four grandchildren; and five stepgrandchildren.

A private inurnment will take place at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Brookside Manor, 700 W. Seventh, Overbrook, KS 66524.
