TOPEKA — Helen Trout, Osage City, died Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Midland Hospice Care, Topeka. She was 76.

She was born Oct. 1, 1945, in Oakley, the daughter of Leo and Rosie (Dechant) Schoenberger. She was raised in Oakley and moved to Osage County in 1976.

After coming to the Osage County area, Helen worked at the sewing factory, Burlingame. Later, she was a cook for several years at Marilynn’s Restaurant, Osage City, and later at a Burlingame restaurant.

Helen married Bill Trout April 13, 2010. During their early years together, they attended Twin Lakes Christian Fellowship Church, Osage City.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Victoria.

Helen will live on in the hearts and memories of her loving husband of 12 years, Bill Trout, of the home; a daughter, Julie Britschge, Burlingame; two sons, Butch Burris, Oakley, and Brant Britschge, Burlingame; three stepdaughters, Peggy Zirkel, Harveyville, Candice Schmitendorf, Osage City, and Christina Bowers Trout; two stepsons, Willard “Bill” Trout Jr., Osage City, and David Trout, Austin, Texas; two brothers, Leo Schoenberger and Marvin Schoenberger; 19 grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.

No services are planned.
