Wayne L. Knight, Ottawa, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022, at Advent Health Shawnee Mission. He was 75.

He was born April 3, 1946, in Bradford, the son of Bill and Anna May (Newton) Knight. He attended #10 School on Buttermilk Lane, southwest of Harveyville, and graduated from Harveyville High School in 1964.

Wayne worked as an industrial electrician with Boise Hilburn Electric and ECKC Electric. He loved riding motorcycles and camping, and at one time he even owned his own airplane. He loved being with his family and friends.

He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Thelma Greeve, Aug. 25, 1967. They were married for over 51 years, and were the proud parents of three sons, Wayne Jr., Matthew J. and William T.

Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma; his son, Matthew; and his parents, Bill and Anna May.

He is survived by two sons, Wayne Knight and family and Bill Knight and family; a daughter-in-law, Penny Knight; a brother, Ken “Lucky” Knight; two sisters, Linda Woodyard and family and Sharron Spurrier and family; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and other family and friends.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, at Feltner Funeral Chapel, Lyndon. Burial will follow at the Burlingame Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 p.m., prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association and sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Ave., Lyndon, KS 66451.
