TOPEKA — Michael “Mike” Mowery died unexpectedly Wednesday, Dec. 15, at his home in Topeka. He was 44.

He was born May 15, 1977, the son of Charles and Raymola Mowery. He grew up in Carbondale, the oldest of four children. His siblings may have been a thorn in his side from time to time, especially when he was trying to read the many books he read, but he loved them dearly, as they did him.

Mike graduated from Santa Fe Trail High School, and a few years later started a family. He had three beautiful children when he met his loving wife, Angela (Seastrom) Mowery. They were married Oct. 4, 2014, and had two more beautiful children.

When he wasn’t with his family, you could find Mike with his friends on Saturday nights playing Dungeons and Dragons or just hanging out.

He worked at the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Service Center, Topeka, for years before moving to Kansasland Tire & Service, Topeka.  He loved his job, co-workers and customers. He became the go-to guy for his family when it came to getting tires put on their vehicles and diagnosing and repairing mechanical problems. He was always helping people. He spent many hours helping his family repair things on their cars. He was always there when you needed him to be there.

Mike was the most caring and forgiving person you could ever meet. His family will forever miss his warm, loving hugs, his quirky smile and his hearty laugh. He will be missed greatly by us all.

He is survived by his wife of seven years, Angela Mowery, Topeka; his children Nathaniel Mowery, Carbondale, Alex Mowery, Topeka, Haylee Mowery, Topeka, Ariah Mowery, Topeka, Sophia Mowery, Tennessee, and Addelynn Mowery, Topeka; his parents, Charles and Raymola Mowery, Carbondale; his sisters, Samantha Mowery, Carbondale, and Patricia Schmidt (Derek), Overbrook; and his brother Jason Mowery (Megan), WaKeeney.

Services are pending until after the holidays.
