LOVELAND, Colo. — Billy F. Morris, 63, died Monday, May 31, 2021, in Loveland, Colo.

He was born Oct. 12, 1957, in Albuquerque, N.M., to James C. and Doris L. (Moseley) Morris. He attended Highland High School, Albuquerque, where he played football.

Billy joined the IBEW as an apprentice upon graduation. After 43 years as an active member, he retired from the eighth district, at the age of 62. Some of his many jobs included UNM Children’s hospital, New Mile High Stadium, Denver Airport, and multiple water treatment plants in the Denver, Colo., area. He considered Colorado home, but the job gave him the opportunity to travel the country working in New York, California, New Mexico, Nevada and Kansas, and he made lifelong friendships along the way.

He married the love of his life, Teri Smith, of Lyndon, July 16, 1983. Before her death in 2002, they traveled, enjoyed horseback riding in the mountains and attending the Telluride bluegrass festival, before it became a big deal. When Billy and Teri danced, the whole room watched.

Billy was an avid hunter and enjoyed being in the mountains. He built two homes in Colorado, one in Glen Haven and one in Drake. His time in California gave him a love for the ocean and redwood trees. Billy never met a stranger and was always willing to help a friend in need.

He is survived by his three children, Marci, Erin (Eric), and Joseph; and his three grandchildren, Sarah, Gunnar and Everleigh. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.

Billy was cremated, and his ashes will be buried next to his wife. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 16, at the Highland Cemetery, Scranton.
