TOPEKA — Charles Edward Noonan, Burlingame, died Monday, July 6, 2020, at Stormont Vail Hospital, Topeka. He was 90.

Charles was born June 22, 1930, in Emporia, the son of Charles E. and Lula (Woodward) Noonan. He graduated from Westphalia High School in 1949.

He served on the front lines for the U.S. Army. He was a decorated soldier and was injured in combat. Charles worked as a shop worker for the railroad and farmed.

He married to Shirley Ann Wolke. They divorced. He married, Joyce Boyer. They divorced.

He was preceded death by his parents; two brothers; and three sisters.

He is survived by three daughters, Debbie Ford and husband, Tony, Wichita, Linda Vice and husband, Jamie, Wichita, and Jean Creviston and husband, Travis, Burlingame; four sons, Ed Noonan and wife, Pam, Burlingame, Tom Noonan and wife, Judy, Burlingame, Kenny Noonan and wife, Candy, Burlingame, and Bob Noonan and wife, Dana, Scranton; a brother, Joe Noonan and wife, Carolyn, Texas; 29 grandchildren; and 62 great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 10, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Osage City. Military graveside honors will follow Mass at 12:30 p.m., at Burlingame Cemetery, Burlingame. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, Osage City.

Memorial contributions may be made to DAV or Wounded Warriors and sent in care of VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, 107 N. Sixth St., Osage City, KS 66523.
