Monday, May 5, after morning rush hour, traffic on northbound and southbound U.S. 75 and on eastbound and westbound K-31/K-268 will be detoured onto asphalt shooflies around the existing at-grade intersection as work will begin on the new intersection roundabout. See an attached map for the location of the two shoofly detour routes.
Phase 2 work includes the following:
• Phase 2 begins upon completion of temporary shoofly roadways. NOTE: Traffic will be rerouted onto the temporary detour routes, and the temporary intersection will have stop signs on K-31 and K-268. Northbound and southbound U.S. 75 traffic will not stop.
• The roundabout intersection, realigned approach roadways, widening of existing approaches, curb and gutter, and the storm sewer system are constructed in this phase with the exception of short segments on the south and west approaches that are impacted by the detour routes.
Drivers should expect minimal delays during Phase 2 work. Traffic will be directed through the project work zone via signage and cones. There will continue to be a 55 mph posted speed limit through the project work zone throughout the project duration. Work will take place Monday-Saturday from daylight to dusk.
