James "Jim" Heisler

VASSAR — James "Jim" Heisler, Vassar, died Friday, May 24, 2019, at his home at Lake Pomona. He was 71.

He was born on Oct. 2, 1947, in Greenwood County.

Jim was cremated and private family services will be held at a later date.

Feltner Funeral Home, Lyndon, is assisting the family.

Ervin Gailey

May 23, 1926 – May 20, 2019

OSAGE CITY — Ervin Gailey died Monday, May 20, 2019, at Osage Nursing Center, Osage City. He was 92.

He was born May 23, 1926, at Rocky Comfort, Mo., the son of Arthur and Ella Routhon Gailey. He grew up in Gentry, Ark., and had lived in Siloam Springs, Ark., before moving to Osage City in 1960.

He owned and operated Gailey's Cleaners, Osage City, from 1960 to 1990. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of Osage City American Legion and Salt Creek Lighthouse Assembly of God Church, Lyndon.

Reece D. Hobby III

Died – May 7, 2019

OSAGE CITY — Reece Devon Hobby III, Osage City, shed his earthly burden May 7, 2019, surrounded by his family, after a long, hard fought battle with cancer. He has started a new adventure and is blazing a trail for the rest of us to follow.

Benny J. Brouhard

Dec. 19, 1960 – May 19, 2019

OSAGE CITY — Benny J. Brouhard, Osage City, died at his home Sunday, May 19, 2019. He was 58.

Benny was born Dec. 19, 1960 in Topeka, the son of Francis L. and Barbara Wood Brouhard. He was raised in Topeka and lived there until moving to Osage County 20-years ago. He enjoyed hand working on knives and target shooting. Earlier in his life, he enjoyed hunting. Benny also liked to spend as much time with his family as possible. He was known for his engaging personality and ability to give everybody a hard time.

Elton Decker

Jan. 27, 1933 – May 15, 2019

LYNDON — Elton Decker, Lyndon, died Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at his home near Lyndon. He was 86.

Elton was born on Jan. 27, 1933 in Vermontville Township, Mich., the son of Ard and Ina Hamilton Decker. He grew up in Michigan and had lived in Haven before moving to rural Lyndon in 1967.

Frances Elaine Siemens

Feb. 13, 1945 – May 16, 2019

SCRANTON — Frances Elaine Siemens, Scranton, died May 16, 2019 at Brookside Retirement Community, Overbrook. She was 74.

She was born February 13, 1945 in Clay Center.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. May 22 at Fellowship Bible Church, Baldwin City.

Linda S. Post

May 15, 1951 – May 15, 2019

LYNDON — Linda S. Post, Lyndon, died Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka. She was 68.

Linda was born May 15, 1951 in Topeka, the daughter of Floyd and Doris James Hoy. She grew up in Osage County and attended Howard Grade School. She graduated from Overbrook High School in 1969 with the last class that graduated from the high school. She was a purchasing agent for the U.S. Army in Maryland. Most recently, she was a payroll clerk at Valeo in Topeka.

Virginia A. Stout Hotchkiss

June 30, 1931 – May 16, 2019

BURLINGAME — Virginia A. Stout Hotchkiss, 87, Burlingame, died peacefully Thursday, May 16, 2019, surrounded by love.

Virginia was born June 30, 1931 in Burlingame, to Henson Rozelle Stout and Marjorie Lucille Workman Stout. She fought valiantly to come into this world, being a double breach home birth, and fought just as valiantly leaving this world.

Frank Noble Garrett

Sept. 3, 1933 – May 11, 2019

WAKARUSA — Frank Noble Garrett, Wakarusa, died Saturday, May 11, 2019, surrounded by his family. He was 85.

He was born Sept. 3, 1933, at Wakarusa, son of Noble Glenn and Junia Geneive Perry Garrett. He was seventh of nine children born on the farm.

He married Neva L. Warkentine, May 23, 1954, at Auburn. She preceded him in death.

Dixie Lee Smith Roden

Oct. 8, 1952 – April 24, 2019

TULSA, Okla. — Dixie Lee Smith Roden, Tulsa Okla., died Wednesday, April 24, 2019. She was 66.

She was born Oct. 8, 1952, at Emporia, the daughter of Roland and Pat Smith. She graduated from Burlingame High School and Oral Roberts University, Tulsa, Okla.

She married Terry Roden, Oct. 15, 1989. He survives.

She retired from the State of Oklahoma in 2017.
