Jesse Henry Mundy

TOPEKA — Jess “Bud” Henry Mundy died suddenly, Oct. 30, 2018. He was 79.

A celebration of life was held Nov. 3 at Carbondale Church of Christian Fellowship, Carbondale.

Frances Kay Coffman

Jan. 11, 1947 – Nov. 3, 2018

TOPEKA — Frances Kay Coffman, Melvern, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018, at Midland Hospice House, Topeka. She was 71.

She was born Jan. 11, 1947, on a farm near Alpine community, the daughter of John Wardie and Pearl Edna Burnett Davis. Her family moved to Topeka, where she graduated from Topeka High School in 1965.

She worked for Palmer News for several years and after moving to Melvern in 1997, she worked at Mayes House, Melvern.

Mary Ann Coffee

Aug. 26, 1943 – Oct. 18, 2018

TOPEKA — Mary Ann Coffee, Vassar, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2018, at Midland Hospice Care, Topeka. She was 75.

She was born Aug. 26, 1943, at Edwardsville, Ill., the daughter of John and Ruth Dolejs Rojak.

She lived in Collinsville, Ill. before moving to Vassar in 2002. She was a legal secretary for many years and retired from Husch and Eppenberger Law Firm, St. Louis, Mo. She was active in the Illinois VFW Auxiliary and was state president in 2001to 2002.

Arthur William Atchison

April 18, 1928 – Oct. 30, 2018

OSAGE CITY — Arthur William “Bill” Atchison died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018. He was 90.

He was born on April 18, 1928, at Arvonia, the son of John Henry and Florence Gunterman Atchison. He was a lifelong resident of Osage City.

He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He married Helen Schnoor Dec. 24, 1951. She preceded him in death.

Theodore W. Crook

Sept. 18, 1946 – Oct. 25, 2018

TOPEKA — Theodore W. “Ted” Crook, Overbrook, was delivered unto eternal life, Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018, at Midland Hospice House, Topeka. He was 72.

He was born Sept. 18, 1946, at Topeka, son of Lawrence Leslie Crook and Sarah Benton Crook. He graduated from Shawnee Heights High School.

He served our country during the Vietnam Conflict in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Korea.

He married Helen Earlene Bledsoe May 6, 1966, Topeka. They shared nearly 48 years of marriage before her death on Feb. 21, 2014.

Cecil Wendt

April 3, 1926 – Oct. 27, 2018>/b>

HERINGTON — Cecil Wendt, Herington, entered his heavenly home Oct. 27, 2018. He was 92.

He was born April 3, 1926, the sixth child of August and Amelia Schlesener Wendt. He attended Herington High School. He learned to do his chores at an early age and responsibilities of becoming a farmer.

He married Shirley Ann Koepsel Nov. 29, 1953, at Zion Lutheran Church, Latimer. She preceded him in death Jan. 21, 2012.

Ananora "Ann" Dunnaway

Dec. 13, 1921 – Oct. 27, 2018

OVERBROOK — Ananora "Ann" Dunnaway, Topeka, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018, at Brookside Retirement Community, Overbrook. She was 96.

She was born Dec. 13, 1921, in the Lakeside Community, north of Lawrence, the daughter of Amaziah Howard and Sadie May Anderson Shields. She graduated from Lecompton High School in 1940.

She married Gail Dunnaway July 12, 1943, at Martinez, Calif. He preceded her in death.

Jeanne Louise Kingery Bond

June 23, 1937 – Oct. 28, 2018

OVERBROOK — Jeanne Louise Kingery Bond went home to the Lord Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018, surrounded by her family. She was 81.

She was born June 23, 1937, near Lone Star, the daughter of Everett William Kingery and Mary Elizabeth Sanders Kingery.

She married Roland Arthur Bond Oct. 23, 1953. Jeanne and Bus were high school sweethearts. He preceded her in death.
