Nelson Arthur Manning

ALMA—Nelson Arthur “Mouse” Manning, Alma, formerly of Lyndon, died Dec. 5, 2015, at the Alma Manor. He was 66.

He was born Aug. 4, 1949, at Lyndon, the son of Samuel Arthur and Ina Marie Haslett Manning. He attended local schools and graduated in 1967 from Lyndon High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam conflict.

He was a long-time member of the Lyndon area.

He worked for the maintenance department of Quenemo and Osage City. He also worked in the construction business as a laborer. He loved to design and paint motorcycles. He was an active member of Vietnam Vets and Legacy Vets Motorcycle Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Margaret Jeffrey.

He is survived by two sisters, Dora Arb and husband, Lester and Sharon Cowan and husband, Russell, both of Osage City; a brother, Carl Manning and wife, Charlotte, Lyndon; a brother-in-law, Joe Jeffrey, Wilburton, Okla.: nieces and nephews; an aunt, Letha Haslett; an uncle, Floyd Haslett; and many brothers of the Legacy MC.

Graveside inurnment services with military honors will be 11 a.m. Dec. 19 at Lyndon Cemetery.
