Sales tax increases July 1

Sales tax rates around the county increase July 1 following a .35 percent increase by the Kansas Legislature in the budget passed on June 12, and signed into law on June 16.

The City of Lyndon will see an additional half-cent increase, following a sales tax approved by voters in April.

Sales tax rates in county will be as follows:

Burlingame – 8.5%
Carbondale – 9.5%
Lyndon – 9%
Melvern – 8.5%
Olivet – 7.5%
Osage City – 9%
Overbrook – 8.5%
Quenemo – 7.5%
Scranton – 8.5%
Osage County – 7.5%
