Overbrook man in critical condition following shooting

OVERBROOK—A Overbrook man received critical injuries from a shooting which happened at a residence in the 900 block of Oak Street at 12:35 a.m. today in Overbrook.

According to a press release from the Osage County Sheriff’s Office, Osage County 911 was notified by a resident of Overbrook who had an intruder who had forced entry into her home.

“The subject, who had been shot, then fled the residence 12:40 a.m.,” the report said.

Osage County 911 received a second call from Bruce Jolly, 48, of Overbrook, reporting he had been shot and was at a neighbors house. Jolly was transported by Osage County EMS to Stormont-Vail HealthCare. The report said an updated on his condition is not known at this time.

Terry Hollingsworth, Overbrook Police Chief, said Jolly was had previously been listed in critical condition.

“The person who shot Jolly was not injured and was not arrested,” the report said. “The victim’s name will not be released at this time.”

Search warrants were conducted at both the Jolly residence and the victim’s residence to collect evidence, the report said.

Hollingsworth previously commented on the case, confirming the shooting and assuring there was no cause for public alarm.

“Nobody’s on the loose,” Hollingsworth said. “Everybody is safe.”

Hollingsworth said the department has taken several concerned calls this morning. He wanted to assure the public of their safety, but wanted to wait to release additional details of the case.

The Overbrook Police Department is jointly investigating the case with the Osage County Sheriff’s Office.

The case has been turned over to the Osage County Attorney for formal charges against Jolly, the report said.
